Job Locations and Reviews
After receiving approval for the estimate, I coordinated with the electrician to install a new outlet at the water heater. This involved precise measurements, ensuring the outlet was securely mounted and properly wired. I verified the installation met safety standards and functioned correctly. The job was completed efficiently, allowing for a seamless continuation of the project.
I successfully replaced the basket strainer on the right sink, ensuring it was properly installed and securely fastened. After installation, I meticulously tested the strainer for any leaks, confirming that it was functioning correctly. The sink is now fully operational and ready for use. I used a high-quality Proflo basket strainer, known for its durability and efficiency. This replacement ensures that the sink will effectively trap debris and prevent clogs, providing a seamless and reliable experience for the users.
I adjusted the drain line for the ice machine, which was tilted back, causing cold water to accumulate and drip onto the floor. The adjustment ensured proper drainage, preventing further water accumulation. Additionally, I identified two back legs of the ice machine that are detaching and recommended immediate attention from the ice machine specialists. Regarding the pressure issue, I confirmed with Brian that a new PRV is needed. Ecolab was also informed about the pressure problem.
Upon inspection, the large urinal on the left side was leaking from the bolts securing it to the drain. Despite tightening the bolts to their maximum capacity, the issue persisted. Consequently, the wax ring needed replacement. I removed the urinal, cleaned the area, and installed a new wax ring. However, after securing the urinal and turning the water back on, leakage reappeared from the bolt holes. This indicated the urinal itself needed replacement. I informed the manager and scheduled a return visit with an additional person to replace the urinal using an American Standard Lynbrook urinal and a foam ring.
I completed the repiping of the Temperature and Pressure (T&P) valve and installed a thermal expansion tank, adhering to all relevant codes. I identified significant corrosion on the cold side of the water heater but, as per the homeowner's request, deferred the repair. The same fitting on the hot side also showed signs of corrosion. Given the water heater's age, I advised against replacing the anode rods on both sides, recommending instead to replace the water heater, which would cost $650 per side if necessary.
Upon arrival, the men’s bathroom toilets were clogged. Using a small machine from the mop sink, I identified the clog at approximately 30 feet. After clearing the line by flushing the toilets and running the mop sink for a few minutes, I inserted a camera to locate a faulty sanitary T fitting at 15 feet. This fitting was positioned incorrectly, causing water to shoot into the main line without direction. Another problematic fitting was found at 30 feet, where waste accumulation was evident. I marked the locations of these fittings on the floor in the bathroom and in the office. The landlord’s plumber also arrived to assist.
I successfully replaced the old garbage disposal unit with a new, high-efficiency model. The process involved disconnecting the old unit, ensuring all electrical connections were safely handled, and installing the new disposal. I tested the new unit to confirm it was functioning correctly and properly disposed of the old unit. The job was completed efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption.
Upon inspection, it was determined that the gate valve packing nut required adjustment. I carefully accessed the valve and identified the packing nut as the source of the leak. Using the appropriate tools, I methodically tightened the packing nut to the correct torque specification, ensuring a secure and leak-free seal. The valve was then tested to confirm the resolution of the leak. The job was completed efficiently, and I verified the successful outcome by conducting a thorough inspection. The client was informed of the resolution, and I obtained their signature to confirm the satisfactory completion of the task.
Upon inspection, the pressure assist toilet in the first bathroom to the left was not functioning correctly. After identifying the issue as a faulty cartridge, I replaced it with a new Sloan pressure assist cartridge. This resolved the flushing problem, ensuring the toilet operates smoothly. The replacement was completed efficiently, and I confirmed the successful repair by testing the flush. The homeowner, Sean, signed off on the completed work.
Upon receiving the request, I began by assessing the hot water shutoff valve on the wet bar sink. The existing valve showed signs of wear and needed replacement to ensure proper functionality and prevent potential leaks. I carefully turned off the water supply to the sink and drained any remaining water from the pipes. Next, I removed the old valve using the appropriate tools, ensuring no damage was done to the surrounding plumbing. After cleaning the area, I installed the new shutoff valve, making sure it was securely attached and aligned correctly. I then turned the water supply back on, checked for leaks, and tested the valve to confirm it was operating smoothly. The job was completed efficiently, restoring reliable access to hot water for the wet bar sink.
On September 11, I returned with a new Navien 240 A2 NG tankless water heater. I removed the old water heater and installed the new one, ensuring all fittings were securely connected. I turned on the water supply to check for leaks, finding none. After turning on the gas, I fired up the heater and set the temperature to 140 degrees. The heater is now operating correctly without any issues.
Upon arrival, I was informed that the water to the filter system had been shut off, resulting in no filtered water being available. The manager had already restored the filter system to its filtering mode. I inspected all faucets connected to the filter system and confirmed that they were now receiving filtered water. I ensured that the filter system was operating correctly and that all faucets were delivering the expected quality of water. Additionally, I provided guidance on maintaining the filter system to prevent future issues. The job was completed efficiently, and all systems are now functioning as intended.
Upon inspection, the hand sink's brass nut had split, causing water to bypass and drip onto the floor. I removed the tail piece and the broken brass nut. A new 1-1/2 inch brass nut and a top hat gasket were installed. The drain was secured, and a test confirmed that the leak was resolved. The job was completed using a brass nut and a top hat gasket.
I inspected the Navien tankless water heater and found it to be operating correctly, providing hot water as expected. Upon investigation, I discovered that the GFI (Ground Fault Interrupter) on the outlet had tripped, which was causing the issue. I reset the GFI, and the heater resumed normal operation. I informed the manager about the tripped GFI and recommended submitting a work order to have the outlet professionally checked for safety and reliability.
We recently completed a service call for a tenant renting through a property management company. Upon arrival, we assessed the issue and found it to be a minor repair that could be resolved quickly. Given the circumstances, we decided to waive the trip charge to ensure the tenant received prompt assistance. However, due to our policy of not servicing properties managed by third-party companies, we were unable to proceed with the repair. We communicated this policy clearly to the tenant and provided guidance on how they could address the issue directly with their property management company.
On 9/4/26, I inspected the two men's restroom faucets as per the ticket. The left faucet's mounting bracket was loose, causing it to wobble during use. I tightened the bracket underneath to secure it. The right faucet lacked a mounting bracket, so I sized and secured several washers and a new nut to stabilize it. Both faucets are now securely mounted and functioning properly.
Upon arrival, I inspected the pre-rinse sprayer on the three-compartment sink. The hose and support spring were both broken. I carefully removed the old, damaged hose and support spring. I then installed a new T&S 44” pre-rinse hose and a matching support spring. After completing the installation, I turned the water on to ensure there were no leaks. The new components functioned perfectly, with no leaks and proper support. The job was completed using T&S 44” pre-rinse hose and T&S support spring.
Upon arrival, I conducted a thorough inspection of the dual handle Insta Hot unit by the first espresso machine, which was not producing hot water. Both handles were dispensing cold water. I began by examining the electrical connections and found that the Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFI) on the outlet the unit was plugged into had tripped. I reset the GFI, and the unit began to heat water immediately. After confirming that the unit was functioning correctly, I ensured that hot water was being produced from the hot handle and cold water from the cold handle. The dual handle Insta Hot unit is now operating as intended.
I successfully delivered two faucets to the job site where a team of workers was actively engaged. Upon arrival, I coordinated with the site supervisor to ensure the faucets were handed over to the appropriate personnel. The workers were in the midst of their tasks, so I made sure to explain the specifications and features of each faucet to ensure they were installed correctly. After confirming that the workers had the necessary tools and instructions, I provided a brief demonstration on how to handle and install the faucets. This ensured a smooth transition and allowed the team to continue their work without interruption.
Upon arrival, I inspected the floor sink under the hand-off counter, which was clogged and holding water. I began by using a small auger to attempt to dislodge the clog, but it was too deep. Next, I employed a small machine to reach the blockage, which was located approximately 25 feet down. After successfully hitting the clog, I pushed the cable all the way out and then pulled it back. To ensure the clog was completely removed, I flushed the sink with several buckets of hot water, which flowed freely without any issues. The floor sink is now clear and functioning properly.
We addressed a recurring issue with slow-draining FOH drains, likely due to coffee and cream residue buildup. After consulting with the manager, we scheduled a service after hours to avoid strong odors. Upon arrival, we jetted the incoming side of the drain line and cleared the buildup from the clean out to the grease trap. Using a small jetter hose, we also cleared floor sinks. Finally, we flushed the system with hot water to ensure all residues were removed, resulting in clear drains.
I conducted a thorough inspection of the drainage system and its surrounding area. Upon examination, I identified an extremely loose slip nut on the wash bay of the three-component unit. This loose connection was causing water to drip. I carefully secured the slip nut, ensuring a tight and secure fit. As a result, the dripping water issue has been resolved, and the system is now functioning properly.
Upon receiving the call, I promptly assessed the issue with the bone water heater. The hot water system was experiencing a leak on the hot side, which required immediate attention. I carefully inspected the system, identified the faulty component, and performed a precise spot repair. This involved replacing the damaged part and ensuring all connections were secure and leak-free. Throughout the process, I maintained a high standard of safety and efficiency. The repair was completed swiftly, restoring the system's functionality. As part of our commitment to quality, JMJ Plumbing offers a comprehensive 1-year parts and labor warranty on this repair, reflecting our dedication to customer satisfaction.
Upon inspection, I identified an internal leak within the dishwasher. To prevent further damage, I promptly shut off the water supply. I then advised the customer on the potential need for a new appliance. Given the severity of the leak, I recommended either purchasing a new dishwasher or contacting a professional appliance company for further assessment and repair. I ensured the area was safe and clean before concluding the service.
Greg and everyone at JMJ Plumbing are wonderful, courteous, and considerate. We are always pleased with their work. Highly recommend them!

Superior professional service! Terrific price for a major job! Completed job quickly & faster than anticipated!! Brent is great to work with and handled this larger job smoothly with great expertise. Thanks so much!!!
This company will be my go to plumbing repair. Great group of works.
Best plumbing company I’ve ever dealt with.
Brent was referred to us by another plumber that we trust completely. BDS worked us in the very same day. Finding a workable, cost-effective solution to existing plumbing can be very challenging and some just offer the easiest way for them (but costly for the customer). In talking (nice guy) we learned Brent is a master plumber with decades of experience and it showed. He found a way to fix our water service leak MUCH cheaper than a quote we received earlier that same day. What a relief. I have a new favorite plumber!
I have used this company many times for different things including hot water heaters and plumbing issues they do an excellent job very prompt 100% recommend them
The service was provided promptly. They did everything agreed to and then some.
Service was as expected...excellent
Greg came repair a toilet and accomplished that in the most cost effective way. He looked at other potential issue and answered all questions. Very professional and politely.
Plumbing in Marietta, GA: What We See Most
Marietta has the oldest and most varied building stock in Cobb County, and that turns up in the pipe. In the historic districts around Marietta Square and off Whitlock and Church, it is still normal to find galvanized steel supply, cast iron drain stacks and clay sewer laterals running out under a canopy of mature oaks. Each of those materials fails in its own way: galvanized narrows from the inside until the shower drops off whenever someone runs a sink, cast iron scales and eventually cracks along the bottom of the pipe, and clay joints open just enough to let roots in. Three problems, three different fixes, and telling them apart is most of the job.
Marietta is also the commercial center of the county, and a large share of what we do here is not residential at all. The Square restaurant district, the Franklin Gateway corridor, the Cobb Parkway retail strip, the hospital district and the apartment communities off Delk Road and South Cobb all run plumbing that homeowners never think about. Commercial kitchens need grease interceptors serviced and lines jetted rather than cabled, because grease coats a pipe and cable just punches a hole through it. Retail and office buildings need floor drains, flush valve sensors and backflow assemblies kept in working, testable condition. Multifamily buildings share waste stacks, so one unit’s blockage becomes the building’s problem in a hurry.
The last variable is jurisdiction. Some Marietta addresses are inside the city limits and some are unincorporated Cobb, and that determines who issues the permit and who inspects. It also affects which utility bills your water. None of it changes how we do the work, but it does change the paperwork, and it is worth sorting out before a repipe or a sewer replacement starts rather than after.
Our Most-Requested Services in Marietta
- Repiping — galvanized supply in pre-1960 Marietta homes eventually strangles itself shut.
- Sewer Line Repair & Replacement — clay laterals under the historic districts lose the fight with oak roots.
- Sewer Camera Inspection — essential before buying an older home near the Square.
- Grease Trap Repair & Replacement — Square and Cobb Parkway kitchens live or die by the interceptor.
- Hydrojetting — grease-coated commercial lines need scouring, not a cable through the middle.
- Commercial Drain Cleaning — restaurants, retail and office buildings across the Marietta corridors.
- Backflow Testing, Repair & Replacement — required on commercial and irrigation supplies and it has to be documented.
- Preventative Maintenance — scheduled service beats an unplanned Marietta shutdown at dinner rush.
- Commercial Water Line Repair — aging service lines under older Marietta commercial buildings.
- Drain Cleaning & Clogs — scaled cast iron in older homes slows every fixture on the stack.

Plumbing FAQs for Marietta, GA
Do you handle commercial plumbing for businesses in Marietta?
Yes. Marietta is one of our busiest commercial markets. We work on restaurants, retail, offices, churches, schools and multifamily properties across the city, covering grease traps, jetting, floor drains and floor sinks, flush valve sensors, backflow assemblies, commercial water heaters and scheduled preventative maintenance. Emergency commercial service is available 24/7, because a closed kitchen is not a next-morning problem.
My Marietta home still has galvanized pipe. Should I repipe it?
If pressure has dropped, water comes out rusty after the house sits, or you have had repeat pinhole leaks, yes. Galvanized steel corrodes inward and the opening keeps shrinking until flow at the far fixtures is gone. Patching one section moves the failure downstream. In older Marietta homes a full repipe ends the cycle instead of postponing the next leak.
Do I need a permit for plumbing work in Marietta, GA?
For water heater replacement, repiping, gas line work and sewer or water service replacement, yes. Whether the City of Marietta or unincorporated Cobb County issues it depends on your address, since both exist within what people call Marietta. We confirm the jurisdiction, pull the permit under Georgia Master Plumber license MP210296 and meet the inspector.
Why do tree roots keep clogging my sewer line in Marietta?
Because the older parts of Marietta pair clay or early cast iron laterals with very large, very old hardwoods. Roots follow moisture and vapor to the nearest pipe joint, then thicken inside it. Cabling clears them for a season or two. A camera inspection shows whether the pipe is still sound enough for jetting and maintenance or whether the run needs replacing.
How often should a grease trap be serviced at a Marietta restaurant?
It depends on trap size and volume, and the local requirement your health and plumbing inspectors enforce, but most Marietta kitchens are on a regular scheduled interval rather than an as-needed one. Waiting until the trap backs up means a shutdown at the worst possible moment. We service, repair and replace interceptors and can put you on a standing schedule.
Can you inspect a sewer line before I buy a home in Marietta?
Yes, and near the historic districts we strongly recommend it. A standard home inspection does not include the sewer lateral, which is the single most expensive plumbing item on an older Marietta property. A camera run shows root intrusion, bellies, offsets, cracks and the pipe material, which is information worth having before you close.
Do you offer after-hours emergency plumbing in Marietta?
Yes. Our emergency line is answered 24/7, every day of the year, for both homes and businesses in Marietta. Burst supply lines, failed water heaters, sewer backups, no water and suspected gas leaks are all emergency calls. Shut off the main or the gas at the meter if you can do it safely, get people clear, and call us.
